Filly
A filly is the future mother of a foal; horses have different slang and technical terms.
Contemporary American Quarter Horses in many ways owe their remarkable traits and qualities to their ancestors. The gene pool of this breed contains Arab, Barb and Turk blood of feral Mustangs and mounts of Native Americans mixed with the Thoroughbred and other English and Irish breeds. The official registry was started only in the 1940’s. Nowadays, the breed is subdivided into two main types: stock and racing types. They perform specialized tasks and differ in body build and size. Both types are characterized by intelligence and friendly disposition and are popular as family pets for families with children.

They are usually pictured from behind to emphasize the muscular hindquarters. American Quarter horses arrived in America in the 1600s with English Colonists, and over centuries, they have become firmly established in American culture.
